Case Study:

Live Noise Monitoring at Event

Real-Time Multi-Zone Noise Monitoring and Public Demonstration with SV 200A, SV 307A, SV 303 and SvanNET

SV 303 Scena Jutra

Introduction

Real-Time Noise Monitoring Across Multiple Event Zones

Modern live events combine music, technology, and large audiences, creating complex acoustic environments where real-time noise control is essential.

At the Scena Jutra event at the Palace of Culture and Science, a live monitoring system based on SVANTEK instruments (SV 200A, SV 307A, SV 303) and the SvanNET platform enabled simultaneous measurements across multiple zones. Data was streamed in real time to a single project, allowing visitors to observe how environmental noise monitoring works in practice.

Measurement Operator

The monitoring system was implemented in collaboration with Wszystkie Decybele Świata (WDŚ) – a Polish initiative focused on education, acoustic awareness and practical support for the live event industry. The team works across several areas, including live noise monitoring, SPL limit development, acoustic measurements, sound system design, technical consulting and professional training for event crews, engineers and organizers.

In this project, WDŚ supported the implementation of the live monitoring system by combining measurement practice with real event experience. Their role was not only to operate the measurement setup, but also to help explain how real-time data can support better decisions, safer sound levels and more transparent communication during live events.

Challenge

Managing Multi-Zone Noise in a Dynamic Event Environment

Events like Scena Jutra are characterized by rapidly changing sound conditions, driven by live performances, audience activity, and varying acoustic zones.

The main challenge was to demonstrate reliable, synchronized noise monitoring across multiple locations simultaneously, while maintaining full data consistency and real-time access. Each measurement point needed to reflect local conditions accurately, while contributing to a unified overview of the entire event.

For Wszystkie Decybele Świata, the project was also an educational demonstration. It showed that professional noise monitoring can be clear, transparent and practical for people working in live events. Especially those responsible for audience safety, crew working conditions and the overall quality of the event experience.

Expert Insight

Real-Time Monitoring Transforms Event Noise Management

“Live noise monitoring should not be treated only as a post-event reporting tool. During an event, SVANTEK instruments connected to SvanNET provide real-time insight into what is happening across different zones. This allows teams to verify sound levels, understand changing acoustic conditions, and respond before small issues become larger production or environmental problems.

When reliable measurement equipment is combined with proper measurement planning and on-site interpretation, noise monitoring becomes a practical decision-making tool for organizers, engineers, and venue teams.
