From Isolated Measurements to Continuous Event Noise Monitoring
Event noise monitoring at large outdoor fairs is a complex task. Music booths, fairground rides and live concert stages all operate at once, often late into the night and just a short distance from residential buildings.
During the Almería Fair 2026 in Spain, Noisecontrol carried out continuous noise control on behalf of the Almería City Council. SVANTEK SV 307A Noise Monitoring Stations connected to SvanNET sent real-time data from building facades and concert stages to a staffed control centre. The data supported quick decisions during the event and built a reliable dataset for future editions.
The project was carried out by Noisecontrol, an acoustic engineering company based in Almería. Noisecontrol specialises in noise management at fairs, festivals and concerts.
Using its EVENT360 methodology (predict, control, act, improve), the team combined limiters at the sources, monitoring at the receivers and a control centre. This setup turned measurement data into an operational response while the event was running.
Challenge
Keeping Nine Days of Celebration Compatible with Residents' Rest
The Almería Fair runs for nine consecutive days. Dozens of noise sources operate at the same time, and the busiest hours extend into the night. The main challenge was not only to measure noise at its source, but to know how much of it actually reached nearby homes. Noisecontrol needed continuous, reliable data from the most exposed facades. With it, the team could detect deviations early, respond during the event and compare results year on year.

Class 1 Noise Monitoring with Cloud Supervision and AI Sound Recognition
Reliable Data Turns Noise Monitoring into Better Decisions
“The objective doesn’t end when the noise level goes down. It also means understanding what is happening, maintaining control and turning the data into decisions that improve the next edition. With SV 307A stations and SvanNET, we have Class 1 data we can rely on, configured exactly the way we need it.”

Result
Continuous real-time monitoring covered residential facades and concert stages throughout the nine-day fair.
SvanNET with AI sound recognition helped the team quickly identify noise sources and take corrective action.
Night-time facade levels were lower than in 2025 on every day of the fair, by up to 3.7 dB.
The collected data provides an objective basis for planning and improving future editions of the fair.
