The SV 104A is a personal noise dosimeter for assessing occupational sound exposure. It is built to IEC 61252 and ANSI S1.25-1991 (R2020), the standards for personal sound exposure meters, whose acceptance limits correspond to class 2 of ANSI/ASA S1.4 / IEC 61672. Its three profiles work as three independent dosimeters on the same worker, each with its own exchange rate (2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 dB), criterion level and threshold. For example, one measurement run can use any three standards at once — OSHA, ACGIH and NIOSH. The time-history logger records TWA, DOSE, LEX,8h and Leq/Peak/Max/Min. The inbuilt Bluetooth® interface adds two-way remote communication with a smartphone app while the dosimeter is worn, so a run can be started, checked and stopped without approaching the worker. It opens the way to remote noise telemetry.

The SV 104A ships ready to measure and costs from EUR 1,500, depending on local taxes, duties and exchange rates.
The instrument alone costs from EUR 1,500 to 2,400, or about USD 1,635 to 2,616. Kits run from EUR 2,000 to 3,400, about USD 2,180 to 3,706. Ask for a quote through the enquiry form on this page or through an authorised SVANTEK distributor.
The personal noise dosimeter on its own comes with the microphone, windscreen, USB cable, battery and transport box, but no charger. K1 adds a charger, an SV 34B class 2 calibrator, a case and the manual; K5 adds a hub for five units; D5 a docking station for five.
Octave analysis and audio recording are licensed options and can be activated at any time. The triaxial vibration sensor is not an option: it runs in every configuration, with no licence. For explosive atmospheres the SV 104IS is a separate version of the instrument.

The MEMS microphone carries a lifetime warranty and holds its stability and accuracy in harsh industrial conditions, because it is built to survive shock and drops. The linear operating range to IEC 61672 starts at 53 dBA, and the total range is 43 dBA RMS to 141 dBA Peak.
Occupational Noise
Noise Measurements for Regulatory Compliance
The SV 104A is used for occupational noise measurement wherever the work is done: under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.95 in the United States, where MSHA, NIOSH and ACGIH add further criteria, and under ISO 9612 against Directive 2003/10/EC in Europe. Because the three profiles are independent, one study can cover a legal limit and a stricter recommendation at the same time, without measuring twice. In construction, manufacturing, mining and oil and gas, workers move between positions and levels vary through the shift, so one dosimeter run replaces a series of spot measurements
