We are pleased to announce that the SVANTEK SV 977D Class 1 Sound Level Meter has officially received type approval from the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Germany.

PTB certification is one of the most prestigious and internationally recognized validations of measurement accuracy and compliance. By meeting the stringent requirements of IEC 61672-1, the SV 977D has demonstrated superior performance in terms of frequency response, dynamic range, directional characteristics, and stability under varying environmental conditions.

Why This Matters

  • Trusted Data Accuracy: Type approval guarantees that the SV 977D provides traceable and repeatable measurements that meet the highest standards of precision.
  • Regulatory Compliance: In many countries, official noise measurements for legal or regulatory purposes must be conducted using PTB-approved Class 1 instrumentation.
  • Global Recognition: PTB certification ensures that your measurements are accepted internationally, supporting use in cross-border environmental assessments, industrial noise monitoring, and research applications.

Confidence for Professionals

For acoustic consultants, environmental agencies, health and safety professionals, and researchers, this certification provides peace of mind that the SV 977D is ready for the most demanding and regulated applications. The PTB approval further strengthens SVANTEK’s reputation for delivering high-quality, reliable measurement solutions.

We are pleased to announce that the SV 971A Sound Level Meter has received a positive recommendation from the Central Office of Measures (GUM) and has been granted Type Approval. This marks a significant milestone in the certification process for measuring instruments, confirming that our meter meets the technical and metrological requirements set forth by national regulations and international standards such as IEC 61672.

The type approval procedure includes verifying:

  • measurement accuracy,
  • operational stability,
  • environmental resistance.

Receiving this positive approval means that the SV 971A is now fully authorized for legal use in applications requiring metrological compliance, enhancing its credibility and quality in the industry.

We are proud of this achievement and invite you to learn more about the SV 971A

As part of the Wireless Acoustics experiment, SVANTEK will send our instruments to the International Space Station (ISS)!

To mark this incredible milestone, we have our very own mission patch—a symbol of our contribution to space research. The design elements reflect our expertise in acoustic measurements and the ISS environment.
