The Svantek Building Acoustics PRO is a smartphone application designed for sound insulation measurements using SVANTEK sound level meters in the UK. Through Bluetooth, it sets up the sound level meter according to ISO 16283 standards. The app provides a step-by-step guide to sound insulation measurements and can handle two sound level meters at once, making the process quicker.
During the measurement, if the data seems off or incorrect, the app sends out an alert to prevent mistakes. Once the measurement is complete, the app allows you to create a report with the sound insulation results.
SITMA users value the ability to directly upload building acoustics measurement files from their phones immediately after a test. The Building Acoustics PRO app presents sound insulation results in tables, plots, and spectrum views. Additionally, the app facilitates ISO 16283 report generation with just a single click. It saves these measurement results as a project, capturing data from both the source and receiving rooms across different sound source positions. If further processing is required, this project can be downloaded to the SvanPC++ Building Acoustic Software.

Airborne Sound Insulation
step-by-step ISO 16283 measurement with the mobile App
The Building Acoustics PRO App can measure Airborne Sound Insulation using one or two SVANTEK sound level meters at the same time. It aids users in capturing sound levels at both the source and receiving locations, as well as determining reverberation time and background noise. All data collected can be used to produce reports compliant with the ISO 16283 standard. The results display calculated values such as the apparent sound reduction index R’w(C;Ctr), standardized level difference DnT,w(C;Ctr), and R’ values across twenty-one 1/3-octave bands, with central frequencies ranging from 50 Hz to 5 kHz. Both discrete points and scanning methods are available. To assist users, the App has the capability to incorporate previous measurements, like background noise and reverberation time, into the calculations.

with a tapping machine or rubber ball supported by the mobile application
The Building Acoustics PRO App facilitates the measurement of impact sound insulation in line with the ISO 16283 standard, employing both tapping machine and rubber ball methods. Via Bluetooth, the App establishes a real-time connection with the SVANTEK sound level meter. It then utilises the retrieved measurements to compute values like the normalised impact sound pressure level L’n,w(C1), the standardised impact sound pressure level L’nT,w(C1), and L’n values across twenty-one 1/3-octave bands, with central frequencies spanning from 50 Hz to 5 kHz. The software also enables users to specify multiple source positions, with each section providing the option to include supplementary measurements of airborne sound contribution.

remote user interface for decay and impulse reverberation time measurement methods
The new Building Acoustics PRO App offers a user-friendly interface for SVANTEK sound level meters equipped with Bluetooth and the option for reverberation time measurements. It becomes particularly handy when the sound level meter is positioned on a tripod. The real-time Bluetooth connectivity between the app and the meter simplifies both the setup and the downloading of RT60 Reverberation Time results. Guiding the user through the reverberation time measurements, the app provides settings for both the Impulse and Decay methods.

calculation of apparent sound reduction index in the mobile app
The Building Acoustics PRO App provides an intuitive user interface for measurements of building façade sound insulation. During the configuration, the application presents the user with a graphical example of a speaker position relative to the external wall in accordance with the standard requirements. The Bluetooth interface makes it possible to measure the airborne insulation with two sound level meters simultaneously – at the source outside the building and in the receiving room. For the user’s convenience, it is also possible to import previous reverberation time and background measurements from other projects. The App presents the calculated apparent sound reduction index R’45,w(C;Ctr) and R’45 values in twenty one 1/3-octave bands with central frequencies from 50 Hz to 5 kHz and provides on-site reporting.

mobile app for speech transmission index for public address system measurements
The Building Acoustics PRO App is tailored to assist with STIPA measurements using SVANTEK sound level meters. The application connects directly to the meter, streamlining the process by configuring settings and fetching results in real-time for the necessary STIPA computations. Setup is straightforward, thanks to predefined configurations aligned with widely recognized standards such as IEC 60268-16, AS 1670.4, DIN 0833-4, PN-EN 60849:2001, PNEN 50849:2017, and PN-B-02151-4:2015. Users have the option to incorporate ambient noise into the STI assessment. On the measurement display, users can view comprehensive results encompassing the STI index, STI category (Cat.), LAeq, LCeq, LZeq, a results error status indicating the accuracy of the measurement, and modulation indexes m(f1), m(f2) for seven octave bands with central frequencies ranging from 125 Hz to 8 kHz. Upon completion of measurements, the app facilitates the creation of an editable MS Excel report.
