Best Whole Body Vibration Meter
SV 100A
The SV100A Best Whole-Body Vibration Meter is a UK-optimized wireless device designed to measure whole-body vibration exposure in compliance with the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 and ISO 2631-1 standards. The device is user-friendly, featuring four push buttons and a small OLED display for in-field basic configuration.
Equipped with both RMS and RMQ detectors, the SV100A calculates the Daily Vibration Exposure A(8) based on both RMS and VDV, aligning with UK-specific daily exposure limit and action values. It has an 8 GB internal memory for extended data recording and a standard 2.0 USB interface for quick data transfer and battery recharging.
For specialized applications, the device offers frequency analysis in 1/1 or 1/3 octaves and time-domain signal recording. It is fully configurable via Supervisor software, allowing for quick setup of all ISO-required weighting filters, making it a comprehensive solution for whole-body vibration measurement in the UK.
How do you measure whole-body vibration?
In the UK, the measurement of whole-body vibration is governed by the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005, which primarily uses the Daily Vibration Exposure A(8) as the key metric. This is calculated using a specific formula that incorporates the vibration magnitude and the duration of exposure. A specialized vibration meter, such as the SV100A, is typically placed on the seat and seat-back of the vehicle or machinery being operated. The device records vibration levels in three orthogonal directions (x, y, z) and calculates the A(8) value based on RMS and VDV measurements. These calculations align with the UK-specific daily exposure limit and action values, which are 1.15 m/s² A(8) and 0.5 m/s² A(8) respectively.
